EMERGENCY SERVICES
Bulk Distribution - Provide more than one item to more than one individual at one time. Traditionally this has been clean up items, flashlights, food coolers, gloves, etc.
Community Disaster Education (CDE) Presenter - Become a trained presenter and help educate others in disaster preparedness. Presentations are scheduled throughout the county to various companies, faith-based and civic organizations, and various local entities.
Disaster Action Team (DAT) Member- Respond to local disaster (fires, floods, mudslides, etc.) throughout Ventura County in order to assess damage and determine immediate disaster-caused needs and provide assistance (food, clothing and shelter) to clients. Initial and ongoing training is provided. Supervisory and leadership opportunities also available.
Disaster Client Casework - Evaluate needs, provide services and maintain records for clients.
Disaster Feeding - Provide snacks, meals, drinks and water using ERVs or other vehicles on routes within the impacted area or at a fixed location such as a community center.
Disaster Individual Client Services - Provides for clients using a casework process which may include financial assistance, counseling, health-related and reunification services. Positions in client casework, health and mental health services, welfare information, as well as recovery planning and assistance.
Disaster Mental Health Services - Provides crisis interventions, mental health screening and assessment, emotional care and support, psychosocial education mobilization.
Disaster Recovery Planning & Assistance - When client recovery needs are not met through personal, community and government resources, ARC will work to address remaining needs.
Disaster Welfare Information - Facilitates notification from "inside" and "outside" disaster-affected areas, helping clients initiate timely contact with family members and loved ones.
Emergency Support Function - Works with FEMA to facilitate federal resource support to affected state/local entities providing mass care services.
Facilities - Manage the facilities and systems required to support the disaster relief operation. Look after and keep in good condition all appropriate resources.
Financial & Statistical Information Management - Obtain accurate, timely and consistent statistical and financial information.
In-Kind Donations - Fundraise for in-kind materials and supplies required for disaster relief operation.
Invoice Review - Verify receipt and accurate billing for all goods and services received by the disaster relief operation.
Information Management Support Services - Assessment and operational data required for effective management, including information about the scope of the disaster.
Labor Relations - link between Red Cross and all levels of organized labor in the disaster-affected community.
Life Safety & Asset Protection - Provide environment that is as safe and secure as is reasonably possible.
Mass Care - Provides activities and services on a congregate basis to the community as a whole, such as sheltering, feeding, and bulk distribution.
Material Support Services - Support activities and services necessary to conduct a disaster relief operation, including the securing of facilities, supplies and equipment.
Operations Management - Responsible for providing operational and direction to the disaster relief operation.
Organization Support - Elements of the American Red Cross that have a role in supporting disaster response and relief operations.
Partner Services - Coordination of the services and necessary liaison activities with government and private agencies.
Procurement - Procure and/or replenish purchased or in-kind materials and supplies required for disaster relief operation.
RT Communications - Handles all two-way radio and traditional phone service on disaster relief operations.
RT Computer Operations - Handles all desk equipment (phones, computers, etc.) from arrival to setup at disaster relief operation.
RT Customer Service - Supports end-users and issues equipment (including cell phones) to workers.
RT Networking - Handles connectivity between disaster relief operations and national headquarters.
Service to the Armed Forces - Join the Service to the Armed Forces Canteen Team. Provide drinks and snacks to military personnel prior to deployment and/or military families and friends awaiting return of their loved ones.
Services to the Armed Forces: Presenter - Join the Services to the Armed Forces (SAF) Team. Make presentations to military personnel and their families regarding important services available from the American Red Cross.
Sheltering - Provide congregate care for people displaced due to disaster.
Staff Health - Ensure a healthy workforce by providing physical and mental health services. Determine appropriate staff assignments according to current health status.
Staff Services - Activities and services necessary to ensure the ability of Red Cross staff, including spontaneous volunteers, to meet the needs of the people and communities.
Staff Support - Provide support to staff members such as: lodging, travel arrangements, financial, etc. Establish and maintain staff related records.
Training - Provide consultation, tools and training to support the other activities and the field in-service delivery.
Transportation - Look after and keep in good condition all appropriate resources, including, but not limited to, rental and national vehicles, wheeled storage and refrigerated units.
Voluntary Agency Liaison - Link to communicate across internal and external partners to the ARC, particularly those traditionally involved with recovery after a disaster.
Warehousing & Supply - Manage the inventory of materials and supplies required for the disaster relief operation. Distribute, transport and/or appropriate, materials, and supplies.
Workforce Planning & Acquisition - Determine and acquire staff needed to carry out activities. Replace and release of staff members, as appropriate.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Class Manikin Cleaning - help prepare our manikins for First Aid/CPR training.
Equipment Courier - Deliver and/or pick up equipment using chapter vehicles to predetermined locations around the county.
Health & Safety: Equipment Courier - Deliver and/or pickup equipment using chapter vehicles to pre-determined locations in the county.
Health & Safety Instructor - Teach potentially life-saving skills such as First Aid, CPR and AED to a wide range of individuals throughout the county. Candidates who successfully complete the required training can begin teaching right away. Other Instructor positions: Swimming & Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Training, Babysitting Instructor, Pet First Aid Instructor.
Health & Safety Training Support - Join our Health & Safety department and ensure a strong training program helping provide customer service in course registration, product sales, data entry of customer records, file management and other basic logistical and administrative tasks.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Community Events - Process requests for various community events including health fairs and emergency preparedness events; help coordinate staffing needs and informational material for public distribution.
Community Event Coordinator - Help coordinate various community events in which we are invited to host a booth. Collaborate with the requesting agency, recruit and schedule volunteers, and organize, maintain and prepare supplies.
Community Event Squad - Help staff a booth at one of the many community events we participate in. Provide the public with information about our services and sell Red Cross resale items: first-aid kits, emergency kits, etc.
Community Programs - Provide information and services such as those provided at Emergency Aid stations. Reach out to meet communityr disaster caused needs
Data Entry - Volunteer database entries, class records, and other computer projects.
Disaster Assessment - Gather, analyze, interpret, and distribute accurate and timely information about the extent of damage, overall impact, and scope of the incident.
Front Office - General front office operations include answering phones, greeting people, and directing inquiries to proper departments and resources.
Government Liaison - Coordinate services with local, state, federal, and Tribal governement partners, as well as internal ARC partners for the benefit of disaster victims.
Public Affairs - Write press releases, take photographs, represent in the Joint Information Center/Joint Operation Center, coordinate produce internal communication such as newsletters.
Staff Relations - Provide HR management services, as appropriate.
Volunteer Services: Volunteer Coordinator - Support he Volunteer Resources department by helping to recruit, place and recognize new and active volunteers. Tasks may include responding to volunteer inquiries, leading Volunteer Orientations, supporting data management, assisting with internal planning and helping with basic administrative needs.
Volunteer Services - Various positions may be involved in volunteer orientations, interviewing new volunteers, staffing, volunteer database management, volunteer recognition, and other administrative tasks.
Youth Services Adviser - Work in partnership with our Youth Services Program Team to ensure full support of our local school clubs and our student volunteers. Daytime activities include working with club leadership on organizing service projects, inventory and maintenance of supplies and various administrative duties. Weekend activities include attendance/site visits at service projects or special events.
DEVELOPMENT & COMMUNICATIONS
Archivist - Support our chapter by monitoring various media formats.Track and collect articles and references of chapter activities and manage information in accordance with departmental needs. Develop system for intake and categorization for past, present and future items.
Fundraising - Assist with various tasks to help secure funds that support our Chapter's programs.
Information Dissemination - Captures data and information from a multitude of sources to analyze, synthesize, organize into logical formats, and reports internally.
Public Affairs/Public Information Officer - Be an American Red Cross intermediary to the media; collect and disburse information.
