| Description
| This course teaches how to recognize breathing and cardiac emergencies as well as how to perform rescue breathing, the obstructed airway maneuver, and one-rescuer CPR for an adult victim. Course includes a book and skills practice on adult manikins. |

| This 8 hour class is designed for the rescuer who has a duty to respond, or anyone with the desire for advanced CPR knowledge. | Prerequisites | (1) Be at least 17 years old. (2) Possess a current Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) certificate at the beginning of the instructor specialty course. (3) Successfully complete any pre-course practical and written testing.

| This course is designed to train instructor candidates to teach the American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED programs. The course includes skills in Adult CPR, First Aid, Infant and Child CPR, Automated External Defibrillator and several 1 hour optional modular components; Slips Trips and Falls, Ergonomics, Back Injury Prevention, Workplace Violence, Your Heart Matters and Managing Stress. In the instructor portion the candidate will become familiar with all course materials, administrative procedures and demonstrate through 3 practice teaching assignments, the ability to teach the basic course material. |

| Prerequisites | (1) Be at least 17 years old. (2) Possess a current Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) certificate. (3) Possess a current American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor authorization. (4) Successfully complete the instructor pre-course written and skills testing. |

| This 8 hour course will enable current Red Cross First Aid and CPR Instructors to teach this course, which includes two-person CPR, pocket mask and bag-valve mask resuscitation techniques, in addition to basic-level CPR and AED skills. | Fundamentals of Instructor Training ($25.00) |

| Description
| This 4.5 hour course introduces candidates to the history, structure and activities of the American Red Cross and prepares instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross specialty courses to diverse populations. Instructor candidates will be introduced to the policies and procedures of the ARC to ensure course consistency, quality and appropriate training. Instructor candidate must participate in all course activities and exercises. |

| Certification | An instructor candidiate must complete an instructor specialty course within one year of completing Fundamentals of Instructor Training.
